VÆRLØSE VARMVÆRK: BETTER OVERVIEW
BACKGROUND

Værløse Varmeværk was established in 1964 by a group of local consumers. At that time, it had 500 consumers and used oil as its heating source. In 1985, it transitioned to natural gas. Today, it primarily uses waste heat, supplemented by 10% natural gas. With an annual revenue of approximately 25 million DKK, one employee, and 1,650 consumers, the Værløse community has a heating plant that operates more than optimally.
Værløse Varmeværk was an early adopter of remote metering technology and quickly saw the benefits of such a system. For the past 15 years, it has used CB Svendsen’s remote metering products, based on recommendations from other district heating plants.
“As the only person in the office, I have to manage many things, and CB Svendsen’s remote metering are a huge help,” says Frantz Lundquist, the Operations Manager at Værløse Varmeværk.

With a mix of small and large consumers, the heating plant needs various types of remote metering products, which is why it uses the full range of remote metering products from CB Svendsen, including the RF-6, RFC, M-Bus concentrators, FA-60, and FA-40. “The best thing about CB Svendsen’s remote metering products is that they are independent of the meter manufacturer. No matter whose name is on our meters, they can be read, and I’m not forced to use a specific system to collect and process all the data,” says Frantz.
The RF system is primarily used for smaller consumers, connected via RFC, where readings are taken once a day. The FA-40, on the other hand, is typically used for larger consumers who require more frequent readings each day. “Remote metering gives me insight into whether everything is running smoothly. Since I started here, I’ve encountered incidents where data revealed something was wrong at a specific address,” Frantz explains.
In addition to the wide range of remote metering products that are meter manufacturer-independent, the service provided is of utmost importance to Værløse Varmeværk. “One thing is that CB Svendsen is practically in our backyard, but their high-quality and personalised service, like in the old days, is what I value. Their products are high-quality and last forever, and if something isn’t as it should be, you get help immediately,” concludes Frantz Lundquist.
