Imagine a conductor ensuring every musician in the orchestra plays precisely and in harmony. At CB Svendsen, our CCO and QA Manager have just returned from an extensive tour of nine different suppliers across Asia – from display manufacturers to cable producers – to ensure that every supplier plays their part to perfection.
This journey is not merely a control exercise; it’s an investment in our customers’ trust and our commitment to quality. In this article, we explore how these audits strengthen our production and ensure we deliver products of the highest standard.
Behind the scenes
Audits are more than just a formality; they are our way of ensuring that each component meets our standards. By visiting our suppliers in person, we gain insight into their processes and can ensure they align with our expectations. “It’s about understanding and improving. Being present allows us to identify potential improvements and implement them proactively,” says Peter Estrup Nielsen, our QA Manager. By conducting these audits, we reduce the risk of defects and ensure our customers receive products of the highest quality. Our audits cover the entire production chain – from raw materials to finished goods. This ensures that every component, no matter how small, meets our standards. By focusing on the full chain, we ensure our products are not only functional, but also durable and reliable.
ISO certification: Our stamp of quality
When it comes to quality, we make no compromises – and this is clearly demonstrated by our ISO 9001 certification. This international standard forms the backbone of our quality management system and proves that we have robust processes, documentation, and continuous improvement in place.
But we’re not stopping there.
To meet increasing customer demands and ensure robustness at every level, we are exploring and preparing for additional relevant certifications. While we are not ready to reveal which ones just yet, it’s a strategic move designed to strengthen both our internal structure and our value to current and future partners.
“Quality is not just a point on the agenda – it’s the engine that drives our business,” says QA Manager Peter Estrup Nielsen. “The ISO certification is a tool we actively use to ensure our customers can always rely on us.” Future certifications will serve as additional layers of assurance and documentation – particularly as we expand and manage large-scale production volumes for customers worldwide.
Growth driven by quality
Our CCO, Martin B. Svendsen, emphasises the importance of quality in our growth strategy: “To meet rising demand and secure our position in the market, top-tier quality is essential. Our supplier audits are a key part of that strategy.” By focusing on quality, we ensure that our growth is sustainable – and beneficial for both us and our customers.
Building trust through transparency
Trust must be earned – and we believe it’s best built through transparency. At CB Svendsen, we take pride in sharing audit findings with our customers. This can happen on an ongoing basis or as part of the dialogue when new partnerships are established.
It’s not just a formality – it’s a strategic choice. By providing insight into our supplier assessments and quality data, we demonstrate control and accountability across the entire supply chain.
“When we invite customers into the engine room, we’re not just showing what we can do – we’re showing that we take their business seriously,” says CCO Martin B. Svendsen.
The result? Partnerships based on facts, not assumptions – and a shared understanding of the quality level we are committed to delivering.
Our journey through Asia was more than a series of supplier visits; it was a manifestation of our commitment to quality, transparency, and continuous improvement. By investing time and resources into these audits, we ensure that our products not only meet – but exceed – our customers’ expectations.
At CB Svendsen, we believe that quality is not a destination – it’s a journey. And we are proud to have our customers with us every step of the way.
